Important Update

From 5 October 2020, the Student route will replace the Tier 4 route.
•The Student route, which falls under the UK's new points-based immigration system, improves on the previous Tier 4 route making for a more streamlined experience for both sponsoring institutions and students.
•Visas that have been issued through the Tier 4 route are still valid and those eligible will still be able to apply for the Graduate Route when it opens in summer 2021.
•The Graduate Route will be available to international students who have completed a degree at undergraduate level or above at a Higher Education Provider with a track record of compliance and who have a valid Tier 4 visa at the time of application.

Postgraduate classroom programs usually comprise of lectures and seminars, and periodic assessments are made on the student’s progress. Research programs, on the other hand, consist of more independent study practices, and the student is required to submit a thesis or dissertation on their research findings.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Most Universities have set their own academic requirements for each course available on its premises. The students are also required to provide proof of their proficiency in the English language, Such as an IELTS | PTE | TOFEL score, or an equivalent.

The IELTS score requirement varies depending on the level of the course being applied for:

  • Diploma Program: Overall and individual elements 5.0 or above
  • Undergraduate Program: Overall and individual elements 5.5 or above
  • Postgraduate Program: Overall and individual elements 6.0 to 6.5 or above

COST OF EDUCATION

The course fee varies in different universities based on several factors such as location, complexity of course, job market preference of selected subject and university ranking in worldwide. The annual tuition fee starts at 5 Lakh rupees to above with high requirements and specialties in selected Universities.

Many universities provide scholarships and financial support for international students, provided they perform consistently and maintain good grades.  Student living expenses would also differ based on location and University preferences.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The British Universities has two major academic year intakes the first one is January & February and the second intakes at August & September. However Universities will run intakes in April & May and December for the demand of courses to study in UK.

 

The application procedure for universities in the UK:

  • Career management (please see our educational counselor to discuss and decide your courses and priorities to study abroad)
  • Check the university’s eligibility requirements
  • SOP or Personal Statement (Motivational discussion to study the course in the University & location)
  • Apply to the university with all documents through University representatives (EG; eduUK Limited)
  • On receiving the offer letter which confirm the University accepted your application
  • Meet University condition to approve your acceptance, which is valuable for apply UK student visa
  • Once the visa has been approved, make final arrangements for travel and accommodation.

WORK RIGHTS

Students are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during the term time.

The students can work full time on university vacations and public holidays in the United Kingdom.

UG & PG Students can apply for family visa which is on condition based and the spouses of students who have enrolled in Masters Programs get full time work permits.

Many universities partner with industries, corporate firms and offer students internships from 6 months to 1 year outside the term time which enable the student to work in full time according to the company policies, and hands-on training as part of their course curriculum. The United Kingdom does have some restrictions on post-study work permits.

However, if UK Graduate students are able to secure a job with a salary offer of at least 20,800 GBP in annually, they are eligible to apply for a work permit, providing all other requirements to switch from student visa to work permit.
